Abstract :
The present work deals with the
identification of new approach towards the lead
generation in medicinal chemistry and authenticating
the reports present on the use of this Sudanese
medicinal plant Solenostemma argel in the tribal region
of Sudan. The pharmacognostic screening showed its
physical and chemical composition with identification of
active ingredients. The antioxidant activity was carried
out by DPPH and nitric oxide scavenging method. In
which ethanolic leaf extract showed prominent response
which may be due to the promising presence of
flavonoids and related poly phenolic compounds in it
