Abstract: In a modern world, the far-reaching impact of the Internet on our societies and economies has entered a very important phase. The Global economy has emerged and reshaped so that economic processes cannot bypass digital technologies, and in turn, technologies are closely integrated into the business. While underlining new opportunities, we consider digital economy generally and digital platforms in particular as a totally new way for the integration of forcedly closed economies into the global world. In this regard, we have conducted our study on the case of conflict zones, which are under occupation and therefore they have limited access to other countries. In this paper, we will discuss the case of Abkhazia which is currently occupied by the Russian Federation and how it can be integrated in the Georgian economy using digital technologies, as it presents additional opportunities to implement the process of digital integration in conflict regions.
