Systematic Review on Effectiveness of Thymus Vulgaris in Candida Albicans

Abstract: Thymus vulgaris has been used to achieve healing, cure chest congestion, and induce saliva since ancient times. The fresh leaves are consumed to relieve sore throats and are traditionally used for numerous skin conditions like oily skin, acne, dermatitis, eczema, and insect bites. It is known to have anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial and antioxidant effects, extensively researched in recent years. To determine the effectiveness of Thymus Vulgaris in Candida Albicans. A systematic review of In vitro study using Vulgaris as an effective agent against Candida Albicans. Electronic databases were searched, and 297 articles were obtained, among which four studies were included in this study.  Result: Four studies were included in the systematic review, of which all are in vitro studies. All the studies describe that Thymus Vulgaris has antifungal activity against Candida Albicans. Thymus Vulgaris has antifungal activity against Candida Albicans and is used for numerous skin conditions like oily skin, acne, dermatitis, eczema, and insect bites.
