Abstract: Haircutting salons provide an essential service to their customers, but they also pose a risk of transmitting infectious diseases if proper hygiene practices are not followed. This study aimed to assess the effectiveness of hygiene regimens in haircutting salons and determine if they are sufficientin reducing the risk of infectious diseases. A survey was conducted among 100 haircutting salons in a large urban area, covering topics such as hand hygiene, disinfection of tools, and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves and masks. Swab samples were taken from the surfaces of tools and equipment used in the salons to assess the presence of bacterial contamination. The findings of this study highlight the need for standardized hygiene regimens in haircutting salons to reduce the risk of infectious diseases.
