Abstract: The study investigated nongovernmental organization as agents of women empowerment using Development Education Center (DEC) as a case in Enugu state, Nigeria. The population of the study comprises a total DEC membership of 1955 in Enugu state. Multistage procedure and simple proportional random sampling technique were used to select 10 DEC communities, made up 143 women group with a total membership strength of 1172. Subsequently Thirty percent (30%) was applied to the membership size of 1172, which gave 351 respondents. However, only 263 respondent questionnaire was wholesome and used for study.
