Abstract: Studies on medicinal flora salem district Tamil Nadu, was conducted during September 2015 to march 2016,collect the information, the informants were selected based on their knowledge of medicinal plants. A total of 140 species, 118 genera, and 44 families, utilized to cure various ailments by indigenous people, were identified. Were using these medicinal plants to cure diabetes, dysentery, jaundice, snake-bite, astrin, coughs, cold, colling restor, skin infections and gynecological disorders. The present investigation revealed that medicinal plants still play a vital role in the primary health care of the people. Importance and medicinal plants value information to initiate drug discovery efforts.
