Abstract: Lost wax process also called cire perdue (French: [siʁ pɛʁdy]; borrowed from French)–In the lost wax casting method, a wax model is first made. A coating of clay or plaster of paris is applied over this model. It is fired into a mold. Casting is done by pouring molten liquid metal (such as: copper, brass, iron, bronze, aluminum) into the void created by the burning of the wax.
