Abstract: Nutrigenomics is a scientific study of the molecular interaction between genes and nutrients. Personalized Nutrition is the practice of adapting the diet to meet specific nutritional needs or prevent chronic disease in individuals or genetic subgroups based on the results of genetic testing. Few studies have examined how college students perceive the possibility of targeted recommendations based on their genetic make-up. Multiple companies are now offering personalized dietary advice based on the results of genetic testing. College students, who are educated and more familiar with new technology, may provide valuable information about perceptions toward nutrigenomic technology while it is still in its early stages of development. The purpose of this study was to examine the knowledge and perception of undergraduate students towards nutrigenomics for personalized nutrition. Participants in this study were students from the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta Ogun state who completed a paper survey questionnaire administered.
