Abstract: This study determined the influence of emotional-social intelligence and a positive learning environment on the cognitive performance of students. A descriptive-correlational research design was employed. There were 300 Senior High School respondents in one of the public secondary schools in the Division of Davao del Norte who were chosen through simple random sampling. This study used three adopted questionnaires. Mean, Pearson r and regression analysis were used as statistical tools. Results show that the students' emotional-social intelligence and cognitive performance were very high while the positive learning environment was high. The results revealed a significant relationship between a positive learning environment and students' cognitive performance, while no significant relationship between emotional-social intelligence and students' cognitive performance. Further, a positive learning environment predicts the cognitive performance of students. With this current proposition, that positive learning environment is to be successful in stimulation of the cognitive performance of the students. Teachers are also able to create and develop cooperative, constructive, and mutually satisfying relationships.
