Abstract :
Biophotonics deals with the interaction
between light and biological matter, by integrating the
knowledge of physics, chemistry, engineering, biology,
and medicine to solve specific biomedical or life science
issues. Its innate ability to provide non-invasive, highly
sensitive tissue information and induce specific localized
tissue ablation renders biophotonics to be a vital aspect in
enhancing dental healthcare. This article aims to provide
an overview of contemporary biophotonics-based
technologies and their applications in dental research and
clinical practice
